Project Managment - Team work Evaluation Assignment

Project Managment - Team work Evaluation - Assignment Example The activities that fall under these two processes are; decision on leadership through voting, this is also in line with thinking through the purpose of the group, decision on tasks for each member is a strategy to ensure fair share in the workload, all the activities that come prior to tackling of tasks are under transition processes; the plans, goal specification and planning the activities here are like decision on the backup plan as a group to avoid clashing of roles, set up on calendar et al. (Kivipelto & Yliruka, 2012). Action processes are a vital part of the taxonomy, what is entailed here is actual activities that are the sole purpose of a team or rather a group. Information and data are assembled within, members writing down their ideas and opinions, communication of venues for meetings, working on writing skills and grammar are pronounced in this process. The leader sets goals to be completed in every meeting to avoid time waste, the leader also monitors progress. Upon completion of own work, there is team monitoring, members who complete their tasks earlier help their colleagues. Evaluation of work, provision of any vital feedback, coordination and often working in pairs come in action processes. More importantly, the time for completion of work is set in this process (Kivipelto & Yliruka, 2012). Interpersonal processes come later in the taxonomy of team processes. Orchestrating conflict management techniques is employed here. Identification of individual attributes, i.e., strengths takes place and when disagreements occur a management process would be held for instance re-evaluation of objectives and vote on decisions for the best interest of the group. Encouragement occurred during meetings, because of the positive attitude shown. Working in pairs and communication

Implementation Project for the Role of the Clinical Nurse Leader in Coursework

Implementation Project for the Role of the Clinical Nurse Leader in Palliative Care - Coursework Example In the history of mankind, medical treatment for diseases has undergone radical changes during the recent years and now it encompasses the issues associated with technological advancements, socioeconomic dimensions, palliative care for the terminally ill, management of chronic illness and promotion of health and prevention of diseases. Palliative care is an area in the profession where the nursing professionals play an important role compared to the other medical professionals, and it calls for involvement and dedication on the part of the nurses. The role of the nurses is not limited to providing medical care but extends to psychosocial care taking into consideration the entire gamut of the issues involved in the well being of the patients. The amelioration of the hardships faced by the patients which is predominantly the focal issue of the profession is very complex as it is also related to the psychological conditions, the level knowledge, the social background and the economic co nditions of the patients. It is also important to note that the understanding and support of the family members and friends plays a crucial role in the care given to the patients. Apart from streamlining the day-to-day operations, the most important role of the clinical nurse leader lies in instilling confidence in the minds of the patients in managing their own affairs with less and less dependence on the institutions and the family members or friends through empowering them. This will resolve uncertainties in the relationship, improves the quality of care and satisfaction of the patients. This will also in the long run translate into reduction in length of stay in the hospitals, less dependence on human resources of the hospital, understanding of the practical implications of the treatment for readjusting their mind-set in facing the problems with clarity. This will make the patients to approach the service providers as and when the need arises rather than putting continuous press ure on them. This paper seeks to study the role of the Clinical Nurse Leader in relation to the staff nurses and the nurse extenders in increasing the direct care activities and efficiency in time management with the aim of improvement in patient outcomes in a hospital setup with Palliative Care Division having four wards; one for children, two general wards and one for ICU staffed with medical professionals, nurses and social workers. Mostly, the patients admitted are terminally ill who need palliative and psychosocial care. The diagnoses vary from cancers of various sorts to chronic pancreatitis. The services in respect of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and physiotherapy are provided by the specialists drawn from the other division(s) attached to the hospital based on the requisitions from Palliative Care, apart from the medical professionals attached to the palliative care. The critical areas of study relate to staffing plan, recruitment plan, training, and performance evaluation. It is an accepted principle that delegation of authority is possible, but not delegation of responsibilities. The position of Clinical Nurse Leader calls for greater responsibilities which include the responsibility for the performance of the whole team. Therefore, specific patient or staff outcomes need to be measurable for effective control and management. Though

Healthy foods vs. not healthy foods Essay Example for Free

Healthy foods vs. not healthy foods Essay Eating is something that we all have to do to stay alive and we do it at least three times a day. We live in a world where there are so many choices and no one but ourselves are responsible for the foods we eat. In this essay I will compare and contrast the differences between eating healthy foods instead of not so healthy foods. First I’m going to discuss the healthy foods. The two areas of healthy food I’m going to talk about are the benefits and taste. The Benefits of eating healthy foods are that our bodies stay healthy, keeps you full and satisfied longer during the day, giving you more energy through out the day and in the long run keeping us out of the doctor’s office. If you’re trying to lose weight consuming healthy foods is a start to lose weight. The taste of healthy foods is fresher and if you prepare it well the taste will satifa you but it can sometimes lack good taste if you don’t know how to prepare it. Second I’m going to discuss the benefits and taste of the not healthy foods. There is no benefit of eating food that isn’t healthy for you. When we consume foods that have no benefits we end up with all types of health problems like diabetes, heart conditions and being overweight Which all can lead to high medical bills. The taste of these kinds of food might tastes better at the moment due to all the ingredients that are in them and might cost cheaper so it becomes easier for us to consume. In the long run we are responsible for what we eat and the choices of food we buy but we should all consider the benefits it will make or not make.

Importance of Language in The Catcher in the Rye Essay -- The Catcher

Ã‚  Ã‚   The Catcher in the Rye, like many other great works, was met by scornful criticism and unyielding admiration. However, many literary critics also marveled at Salinger's use of language, which was used to make Holden Caulfield, the main character, extremely realistic. Such language includes both repetition of phrases and blatant cursing, in order to capture the informal speech of the average, northeastern American adolescent. Through Holden's thoughts and dialogues, Salinger successfully created a teenage boy. The language used in The Catcher in the Rye has long been a topic of controversy in the literary critic's realm. Holden Caulfield's thoughts and comments serve to deepen his personality and to provide entertainment. Salinger wanted to create a typical teenager while keeping Holden as an individual at the same time. Like most teenagers, Holden speaks in trite sentences. However, he also uses words in places that were then uncommon. Holden often leaves his sentences dangling with words like "and all" and "or anything." Often he uses these phrases to extend some indescribable emotion or action like, "... how my parents were occupied and all before they had me" and "...they're nice and all." Many times there is no significance at all to the expressions as in "...was in the Revolutionary War and all," "It was December and all," and "...no gloves or anything." (Salinger 5-7) Not only does Holden speak like this at the beginning of the novel, but also throughout the entire novel, making this pattern a part of his character. Therefore, the "and all" and "or anything" tags to Holden's speech serve to make his speech authentic and individual. Salinger intentionally used such speech repetition to individualize Holden... ...oughout the novel made Holden Caulfield human. Due to the precise representation of a teenage boy, the reader is able to become intimate with Holden's peculiarities, therefore making him seem more credible. By making Holden come to life through repetition of dialogue and thought, Salinger was able to create one of the most unforgettable characters. Works Cited and Consulted Bloom, HB. Introduction Paper Essay

I am 30 years old and have been taking college courses over the last 11 years. I have always attended on a part time basis and I have never taken any summer courses. During the 11 years I have taken about two years off, and have officially changed my major three times. I have a lot of work experience that lines up with my current Business Management Major. I enjoy learning about Human Resources and have always thought I would enjoy a position in the Human Resources department. Academic Background When I started this journey I wanted to be an accountant, after my first semester at Saint Paul College a I realized, I did NOT want to be an accountant! The classes were very hard and a lot of work, there was just way too much to learn. I had a passion for children and growing up I always wanted to be a teacher, so I switched into a major in Child Development (CD). I made it through about two semesters of CD courses and learned that this was not the right path for me either. The instructors repeatedly reminded the students that careers in the CD field are not about making money (because there is not a lot of money in this field) but rather about working with the children. I thought I DO want to make money and instead of working with kids I would just have some of my own later in life. I also realized that if I completed this program, in the end I would have an education but no work experience. At this point I had no idea what I was going to get a degree in. I looked at my resume and realized that I had experience in operations management, Import/Export, various management positions at fast food restaurants, and extensive customer service experience. I came to the conclusion that a degree in Business Management would benefit me most, as it will ensure I have the education to match the experience. In 2009 I graduated from Saint Paul College with an AA as well as an AS in Business Management and in 2010 I transferred to Metro State University to complete my BS. This Course & Past HR Courses I took an Introduction to Human Resource Management course in 2004 of which I received an A grade, but it did not satisfy this course as required for the completion of my BS in Business Management. Since I have already taken a similar course, I do hope I can obtain another good grade, and possibly learn something I may have overlooked previously. I look forward to hearing the perspectives and ideas on how to handle different situations from the other students. More about Me I have been with my boyfriend for almost 10 years; we have a one year old daughter and plan to try for another after this semester is over. We have three large dogs ranging in age from 6-15, and once had a bearded dragon. We live 45 miles north of the twin cities in Harris – a town of about 1000 people. I work full time at BAE Systems in Fridley as a government property administrator, with previous positions held in Accounts Payable, Travel Accounting, and payroll. Conclusion As you can see my path through college has been a confusing one, and has had its failures and successes. Now that I am on the right path, I hope to be a successful business person. With my customer service and payroll experience, I have always thought I would be a good fit for an HR representative. I am a new mom and eager to expand my family further! I commute to work and have held several positions within the company. I am just an average person working my way through life and trying to obtain an education to make the quality of my life even better.
